It's Been such a LONG time....

Wow I do not event know where to begin so much has happened the last 2months. REALLY? is it almost MAY! WOW. Ok well for starters Jamie and I moved to Pacifica!! We live in an apartment about 15 feet from the ocean and we LOVE it, it was a pretty fast move but are happy here in our new home. It has been just about 2 months since we moved but we are still getting settled. Life definitely does NOT stop so it has been a process but we are getting use to it. The weather here is a bit different from San Francisco, it's breezy at night with the Ocean right next to us, but the sunny days are BEAUTIFUL!!! We has such great weather earlier this week, it was in the high 90's<<<< THAT IS UNHEARD OF HERE! haha. It made us look forward to summer time, when that comes here in about October haha. Pacifica is only about 12- 15 min. out of San Francisco, and it is actually easier for us to get to downtown SF from where we live now, easy in 15 min. We have parking now, and there is no street cleaning, ( the tings San Franciscans appreciate! ) Pacifica is a small town, but people are nice, and still so close to where we need to be.

I leave for Italy in 30 days!!!! I am SOO excited but I feel like I have not been able to think about because I have so much going on right now, I am def. looking forward to the break- life has been non-stop recently and it will be nice to just get away- something i am looking forward to.

I planned a walk for Women's Cancer Research accross the Golden Gate Bridge this Sunday the 26th, it has been so much WORK and dealing with a lot of people getting all the permits and donations but it is finally coming and I CAN'T believe it. To be honest I really want it to be over so I can have some time to relax, but it has been a learning experience and I am truly glad to do it. I am expecting a nice turnout so I will keep you updated. All the money I am raising is going to UCSF women's cancer center towards research. I picked up the T-shirts today, and am getting all my paper work in place, note* paper = not fun. :) I have def. learned that this year has been a struggle to get people involved and to donate money, I know times are hard, but I have had many struggles to get people to donate money all of our big donors that usually have no problem supporting causes have been turning me down, but we are going do great with the money we raise, because I have learned that every little bit helps. I will make sure to put pictures up of us on the Golden Gate Bridge!

On a sadder note I found out that due to a mix-up in the transcript office I will not be able to graduate until May of 10. So that means 1 more semester than expected. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it will definitely be an adjustment. It also means find another 20,0000.00 for 1 more semester. USF is pretty pricey. On the upside though it may be better to graduate in a year when hopefully* the economy is better and getting a new job might be easier. Many of friends are not graduating with a job, which is so RARE for our USF grads. Last year so many of my friends graduated with jobs in hand. It's just a different time, and that means adjustment.

I am setting a goal of opening my own restaurant within 5 years of graduating, which may sound like a long time, but I have just finished all the planning for it including financials down to the napkins and it is A LOT of money, but something I want so bad, and i will do it. I am very excited about it, but it will be an even LONGER process and but I am willing to put in the work and dedication.

Last month Jamie and I had the chance to take a 1 night trip to San Simeon for a MUCH needed away time trip. It was short but we enjoyed every min. of it, I put up some pictures from our trip, it was fun just driving down the coast. We are hoping to take another 4 day trip right before I leave for Italy, and he starts filming a feature film, we will both be busy and since I will be gone we really want to take that time.

22 years old

Wow, it has been a while since I last wrote. Things have been going well, school is getting busy but so far so good, I have been doing a lot better about keeping on top of things this semester. I am proud of myself for not being behind all the time, it feels good! Work has been better lately, I find myself enjoying it more, I think I have learned that when everything kinda gets in place n life it makes a huge difference. Organization is key, and as soon as you get one thing organized move onto the next, and so forth. I feel pretty calm which is nice. I went to New Orleans for CMAA ( Club managers Association of America) annual conference. It was a lot of fun, I love new orleans but the last time I went was before Katrina, and it was nice to see the before and after but it was very sad, a lot of of the city is still run down and deeply still effected by the event. There is some new construction but not nearly enough. I was glad to go though, and see the parts of the city that I love. I definitely could never live there though, everything closes so early!!! My friend Caroline and I went to go shopping about 4 pm, and figured we would have the rest of the day, but little did we know that stores close at 6 or when it gets dark, haha. Just a bit slower down there not a whole lot to do. I was lucky to go with my good friends, and also I had a buddy from work go down at the same time with his friends so there was a nice group of us that hung out a lot.

My valentines day was nice, I worked and Jamie and I went to dinner and played ski-ball which I kicked his butt in! Work was pretty busy but it was good we needed the business.

My birthday was fun, I had class in the morning and then spent the day relaxing! I went to dinner with a group of friends and then we went to one of my favorite bars and played Apples to Apples and had a few pitchers of beer it was nice to just hang out with friends.

Some other exciting news is that Jamie and I got a new apartment! We are moving to Pacifica which is the first beach town outside of San Francisco :) I am excited! It is a lot cheaper to live there which will be nice, and it will also be nice to not have roommates. It will ad about 10 min. to my commute which is isn't bad at all. And the best part is that it is on the BEACH instead of other houses across the street from us it is the OCEAN! I am really excited, other pluses are that it is also only 4 blocks from my gym! ( time to get rid of the "extra love" i gained ) and it is about 2 blocks from Safeway so I am excited we can walk to our bank, post office, grocery store, dry cleaner, a few restaurants and Farmers Market !! And the best part NO 2 HOUR PARKING OR STREET CLEANING! which if you live in the city you will understand what I mean :) I will be saving over 100/month on rent alone so I am excited. Once we get settled I will post pictures. The apartment has all new wood floors, new carpet in the bedrooms, which I like, new bathroom re kitchen with Granite counters and backsplash, and new crown molding! I am really excited:)

Other than that I am excited to see my family today, they are coming up to the city to take Jamie and I to dinner for my birthday, we are going to a new restaurant and I am excited! I LOVE trying new places. I will ad some pictures of life recently :)

New Orleans is soon- 1 week super stoked, and now Natalie is coming with me 1 day early which is sweet- I kinda decided that working this semester blows but then there is that thing called money that makes life easy sometimes. OH AND I AM PROUD to say that i am officially DEBT FREE!!! I paid off ALL my credit cards, thank you very much that was super hard. now i can actually save money = awesome. ok gotta get work done before work.

peace & love.

happiness

wow so it has been a while since my last post. I had a very lovely christmas with my family. Jamie and I went to my mom's and the house was filled with family and friends. It was so nice to get out of the city and spend some down time with family. New years eve I worked at the restaurant but Jamie came and rang in the new year with me and it was nice, last year we did not get to spend new years together so it was a treat. New years day we went to visit uncle darrel and hoped to meet shawn's new wife, but he never showed :( it was still nice to see my dad's family it had been a few years since my last visit. Recently I have just been working and spending time with Jamie. My mom came to visit last week and we did a number shopping downtown but it was great to see her and just spend some one on one time with her. Jamie bought a new car, well it is used but new to us and it is a sweet 4Runner! I LOVE it, i am so use to driving my small car it is a nice change to be up high , however i still get to drive my car most of the time. We really needed another car that was able to tow Jamie's film gear around so it has been a nice addition, however we def. see the difference in gas, my small car gets such great gas mileage compared to the 4Runner. Last night Jamie and I escaped up to Napa for the afternoon/evening, we had a wonderful dinner at Fume` and we able to sit outside in the tent next to a fire, it was very relaxing. After dinner we went for a long drive through the hills, it was so peaceful we really enjoyed it. Jamie's mom is flying in Saturday from New York so I am excited we have a whole list of things to do :-) Although now I have been frantically cleaning everything spring cleaning came early this year. Our apartment isn't a mess but now I need to have it to Mom clean standards haha. It feels good to get rid of all the old crap that is lying around and really start the year fresh. Well I am getting ready to leave the restaurant for the night and lock the door so i will depart, pictures up soon !
